Our Policies
Late and Excessive Cancellations
We reserve the right to charge the full cost of the session if any cancellation is made less than 48 hours in advance.

Regarding no-shows, we will wait in the call for 10 minutes and then either:
-
Late-cancel (full charge) and administer part of the session if the student arrives part way through
OR
-
Early-cancel (no charge) and reclaim our time (student does not get a partial session)

If excessive cancellations are made (even with advanced notice) this could result in:
-
Regularly scheduled (i.e. weekly, etc.) sessions being removed from the schedule. The family will only be able to schedule sessions a maximum of 24 hours in advance.
-
Termination of services.
Payment
Payment is processed through the business platform Stripe. You do NOT need to make an account with Stripe.
Clients will be added as a customer before working with Kyle. They will pay the first session within 48 hours of receiving the invoice via email. Stripe will store this payment method used for the first session.
Clients will be automatically charged via their stored payment method in Stripe after each subsequent session (usually the same day the session occurs).
We do not charge sessions in advance. Exceptions are rarely made for certain situations we may charge in advance (last-minute tutoring requests, one-off sessions, etc.).
Any prior sessions must be paid before the next session. Failure to do so will cause following sessions to be cancelled and/or prompt termination of services.
Academic Dishonesty
Our services are not to be used for academic dishonesty. Suspicion that a student is trying to use our services to cheat or otherwise gain any unfair advantage could result in prompt termination of services.
Courtesy
and Respect
We respect your time and ask you to respect ours in return. We do not tolerate students or families that are disrespectful. If a client is rude or disrespectful to any of our staff then we can choose to stop providing you with our services.
Examples of disrespectful behavior include but are not limited to:
-
Taking phone calls during sessions
-
Sending text messages during sessions
-
Talking to friends or family during sessions
-
Browsing social media or the internet during sessions
-
Repeatedly sending our staff unprompted phone calls

Quiet Space
and
Technology
Students should be in a quiet, distraction-free environment during our virtual tutoring sessions to ensure effective learning. Parental presence during sessions can be disruptive for both the student and the tutor. However, occasional check-ins are fine as long as they do not interfere with the session.

Parents are welcome to ask their student about their session after it has ended to stay informed about their progress.

Students should have access to a laptop or desktop computer for all tutoring sessions. We encourage students to use Google Chrome to host our video meetings. We may ask you to use headphones to reduce microphone echo.

Remediation
At this time, we do not offer extensive remediation. Our services are designed to supplement what a student is already learning in school. If any student is requesting more than 4 hours of our time per week, we may suggest you find another tutor that specializes in remediation. We want to make sure that no single student requires an amount of time that inhibits our ability to help our other students.
